Surya with 500 dancers


Actor Surya along with Kajal Agarwal and 500 dancers is shaking a leg for a peppy romantic number for ‘Maatraan‘ in the scorching heat of Jodhpur. The team is shooting in a high temperature of 41 degrees in the desert.

The film that was initially slated for a summer release saw an indefinitely delay thanks to a tussle between FEFSI and TFPC.

‘Maatraan‘ is a high voltage action entertainer that brings back to big screen the hit combination of KV Anand, Surya and Harris Jayaraj who earlier delivered blockbuster ‘Ayan‘. This film has Kajal Agarwal as the lead lady.

‘Maatraan‘ that has some stunts captured with performance motion capture technology is touted to see Suriya in more than one dimension, with both positive and negative shades.

Surya goes to America

After Ezham Arivu, Surya has given a lengthy call sheet for the film Maatran directed by K V Anand. K V Anand, Surya and Harris Jayaraj are joining hands again after Ayyan. Kajal Agarwal is donning the female lead role.
A G S Entertainments is producing this high budgeted film. There were news earlier that Surya will be donning the role of a person with two heads, but K V Anand denied this news. The crew members mention that the role and appearance of Surya in this film will be totally new for Tamil cinema.

Surya and K V Anand will be leaving for America in connection with the graphics work. Stan Winston Studios who have worked for world acclaimed films like Avatar, Jurassic Park, Terminator and Tamil film Endhiran will be doing graphic works for Maatran. Surya and K V Anand are visiting this studio to discuss about a graphic work for Surya’s particular role in this film.

Suriya’s Chinese avatar: Details revealed

By now, we all know that Suriya will play the role of a Buddhist monk (Bodhidharma) in his much awaited 7 Aum Arivu, directed by A.R. Murugadoss. There are reports that Suriya will sport the look of a Buddhist monk for only 20 minutes in the film. Here are more details on the role. Suriya will appear as a Tamil prince from Kancheepuram who travels to China and became a well-respected monk there. Director Murugadoss has done a lot of research on the role and sources who have seen the raw version of the film are amazed with Suriya’s performance.

The story is said to revolve around a time machine brought to India by a scientist (played by Shruti or Suriya according to conflicting versions). The film is also being dubbed in Hindi and Telugu. 7 Aum Arivu is a sci-fi thriller in which Suriya plays a double role and Shruti Haasan is the heroine. Ravi K. Chandran handles the camera while Harris Jayaraj is the music director.

7 Aum Arivu: Ten crores intro scene for Suriya

The latest buzz is that the producers have spent nearly ten crores for the introduction scene of Suriya in 7 Aum Arivu. Made with a whopping budget of Rs. 84 crores, this is the highest budget film in Suriya’s career till date. 7 Aum Arivu, which has Suriya and Shruti Haasan in the lead roles, is likely to grace theatres on October 28, 2011 (Diwali weekend). The director is currently busy with the post production works and the music launch will take place in Chennai on September 22, 2011. The story is said to revolve around a time machine which is brought to India by a scientist. 7 Aum Arivu is a sci-fi thriller in which Suriya plays a triple role: a circus artist, a Buddhist monk and a scientist. Vietnamese stunt actor Johnny Tri Nguyen will play the baddie.
