Suriya-starrer “Singam 3”, the third film in the popular “Singam” franchise, will be shot across four different countries. The regular shooting will commence from November.
“The film will be shot in India, Africa, Australia and Paris. As soon as Suriya completes shooting for Tamil thriller ’24’, he’s expected to take a short break and join the sets of ‘Singam 3’,” a source from the film’s unit told.
To be directed by Hari Gopalakrishnan, the film will feature Anushka Shetty and Shruti Haasan in the lead roles.
“In India, the film will be shot in Karaikudi in Tamil Nadu and in few locations in Andhra. Key portions will be filmed in Australia, while the climax will be shot in Paris,” the source added.
The pre-production work is underway and the team is finalising the rest of the cast.
Multiple sources have confirmed that Suriya will star in Singam 3 and that the film will go on floors once the Singam actor completes Vikram Kumar’s 24. Sources have also said that Anirudh Ravichander has been signed in to compose the music.
Hari, who directed the first two films will wield the microphone for the second sequel as well. Earlier, it was also speculated that Anushka Shetty who was paired opposite Suriya in the previous two movies will feature in Singam 3 as the female lead.
However, official confirmation on the same and details about other cast and crew is still awaited. Suriya is expected to finish Vikram Kumar’s 24 by the end of August and hence Singam 3 will be kick started from early September, according to sources.
Knowing Hari’s dedication when it comes to completing a project, there are chances that Singam 3 could be completed before the end of this year. With both Singam and Singam 2 tasting success, Singam could well turn out to be one of the most successful series of films in Kollywood.
Meanwhile, Suriya’s Masss, being directed by Venkat Prabhu has reached the last leg of its shooting and the movie is expected to go into the post production mode very soon. With the Vaaranam Aayiram actor having more than three films under his belt, starting from the end of this year, fans are most likely to be treated by a string of Suriya films
Suriya Sivakumar-starrer Tamil action-drama ‘Singam 2’, which released worldwide July 5, has got a good opening. It collected Rs.9.25 crore on the release day in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka despite getting criticism for being too lengthy.
“Reportedly made on a budget of Rs.45 crore, `Singam 2` collected a total of Rs.9.25 crore on the day of release from Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka,” trade analyst Trinath told reporters.
The critics said Hari Gopalakrishnan`s directorial venture as over commercial and extremely lengthy, but it seems that the viewers are enjoying the film.
The success of “Singam 2” comes as a respite for Suriya after his last two releases – “7am Arivu” and “Maattrraan” failed to keep the cash registers ringing.
The film is a sequel to highly successful “Singam”, and Hari Gopalakrishnan went behind the camera to helm both the films.
Besides Suriya, “Singam 2” also features Anushka Shetty, Hansika Motwani, Nasser, Mukesh Rushi, Danny Sapani, Rahman, Radha Ravi, Santhanam, Vivek and Anjali.

Suriya returns in the role of a righteous young cop in the sequel and he will lock horns with an international villain, played by Hollywood actor Danny Sapani, who is known for films such as “Oxford Murders” and “Trance”.
Suriya Sivakumar, who is currently gearing up for the release of upcoming Tamil action-drama Singam 2, doesn’t rule out donning khaki for the third installment of the film.
Suriya returns as a righteous young cop in Singam 2, which is the sequel to Tamil blockbuster Singam.
“I would love to do the third part of Singam provided my director has the patience and time to work again. The excitement with with which we have worked for this film has given me the confidence to work again if there is a third installment in the offing,” Suriya told reporters.
He was speaking at the audio launch of Singam 2, which is directed by Hari Gopalakrishnan, who had helmed the first part.
“We spent nearly eight months on this project and, therefore, time becomes crucial if we are planning to collaborate for the next part. Director Hari is already committed to his next project, so am I. If time permits, we may return soon,” he added.
The film also features Anushka Shetty, Hansika Motwani, Nassar, Vijayakumar, Santhanam, Vivek and Anjali, among others, in important roles.
Produced by Prince Pictures, the film has music by Devi Sri Prasad. Singam 2 is scheduled to release on June 14.

Tamil film ‘Singham’ was released in Telugu as ‘Yamudu’. But, the makers have decided to title the second instalment of the franchise ‘Singam 2’ as ‘Singam’ in Telugu.
The teaser of Suriya-starrer Tamil action-drama “Singam 2” released yesterday (Thursday)evening.
“We will release the teaser online today (Thursday) at 5 p.m. Initially, we had plans to have an official launch, but we scrapped the idea later,” a source from the film’s unit said.
“Singam 2” is directed by Hari Gopalakrishnan, who had also helmed the superhit prequel “Singam”, which also featured Suriya.
The sequel also features Anushka Shetty, Hansika Motwani, Vivek, Santhanam, Radha Ravi, Vijay Kumar, Nassar, Lakshmi, Srinivasan and Anjali.
This will be Suriya’s fourth film with director Hari. They have previously collaborated for films “Aaru” and “Vel” besides “Singam”.
“Singam 2” is produced by Prince Pictures and has music by Devi Sri Prasad. It is scheduled to release June 14.
